Duck season is open. Save your birds for a board before they go in the freezer. How to send a bird
Feather & Frame Taxidermy

Pheasant & upland feather mounts

Pheasant, grouse, and upland bird feather art.

Rooster pheasants, grouse, woodcock, and other upland birds, framed from the bird you shot. Every upland board is a custom build, laid out around your bird and quoted per project.

Ask about your bird

Pheasant

A rooster's copper body feathers, barred tail, and iridescent neck give a board more color than almost any bird. The long tail feathers can anchor the whole layout.

Grouse

Ruffed, sharp-tailed, and sage grouse bring fans and barred body feathers that make a quieter, more earthy board.

Woodcock and others

Smaller birds and mixed bags work too. More than one bird can share a frame, like a woodcock and a grouse from the same season.

How pricing works

Upland boards are custom builds. Tell me the bird, how many, and what you're picturing, and I'll tell you what's possible and what it costs. No price is quoted without a direct conversation first.

Sending your bird

Freeze it solid right after the hunt, double bag it, and ship it overnight in a styrofoam cooler inside a box. Upland birds that arrive whole get a $100 cleaning fee. Packing steps.

Billings drop-off

Hunting near Billings? You can drop your bird off instead of shipping it. Message me and we'll set a time.

The same hand-laid feather work goes into every upland board

Same handwork

Laid one feather at a time.

Upland boards get the same process as my duck and turkey work. I draw the layout right on the board, lay every feather by hand, and build the hardwood frame myself.
