Teal feather mounts
Green-winged, blue-winged, or cinnamon. Teal are some of the smallest ducks in the marsh, and some of the brightest. I lay every feather by hand and size the hardwood frame to the bird.
Green-winged teal
Greenwing, green wing, or green-winged, it's the same little duck with that bright green speculum. Both wings spread open and laid symmetrical around the center of the bird. This hen was shipped to me whole from Maine.

The green-wing hen above is my finished teal so far. Blue-winged and cinnamon teal get the same flying layout, built around the colors that make each one.
The smallest of the three. A bright green speculum, and on a drake, the chestnut head with a green eye stripe.

If your board skips the body background, you can breast the teal out and keep the meat. For the body background, I need the whole bird, frozen and uncut, because the background is built from its own body feathers.
Wipe off any blood with cold water, let it cool, put a paper towel in the beak, double bag it, and freeze it solid.
Styrofoam cooler inside a box, UPS or FedEx overnight on a Monday or Tuesday. Put a signed bird tag in the box.
