From prairie potholes to sage flats, these are the birds hunters in this part of the country bring me most.
Ducks
Mallards, pintails, teal, and wood ducks off the rivers and potholes. Flying duck mounts start at $500 with return shipping included. Duck feather mounts.
Pheasant
Ring-necked roosters from Montana and Dakota grass. The Pheasant Vertical Mount is $700 with return shipping included. Pheasant feather mounts.
Turkey
Merriam's from the pine ridges, plus Rio Grandes and Easterns. Turkey Diamond Mounts are $850. Turkey feather mounts.
Grouse and partridge
Sharptails, sage grouse, ruffed grouse, and Huns. These are custom builds, quoted per bird. Upland feather mounts.

Permitted and licensed
Federally permitted for migratory bird work and licensed as a taxidermist in Montana. Every bird comes in with a signed bird tag.
Getting your bird to me
Drop it off or ship it overnight.
Close to Billings? Drop your bird off and we'll talk through the layout in person. Farther out in Montana, Wyoming, Idaho, or North Dakota, ship it frozen and overnight so it arrives solid.

Shipping from the region
Styrofoam cooler inside a box, UPS or FedEx overnight, on a Monday or Tuesday so it doesn't sit over a weekend. Packing steps.
Keep the meat
For most boards you can breast the bird out and keep the meat. Ask me before you clean it. How to save your bird.

Message me
Tell me about your bird and the board you want. We settle the layout, and I send you the shipping address or set a drop-off time.

Send your bird
Ship it frozen and overnight, or drop it off in Billings. When it arrives, a deposit and a signed agreement lock in your build.
- 03
I build your board
Every feather laid by hand in a hardwood frame I build. The balance is due when it's finished, then it ships back to you or you pick it up.
